Pauline Rose Segaar was born on January 24, 1954, at Redwood Falls County Hospital in Redwood Falls, MN. She was the first of nine children born to Yvo and Trudy (Fixsen) Jenniges. She grew up on her parents' farm near Wanda, MN and attended St. Mathias Catholic Elementary School. Her childhood days were spent playing with her brothers, sisters and cousins. Some of her fondest childhood memories were of time spent with her grandparents. As the oldest of nine children, she also learned to work hard and shoulder responsibility.

When Pauline was in the 7 th grade her family moved to a farm near Sedan, MN. She attended junior high in Glenwood and senior high in Brooten, where she graduated with the Class of 1972. After high school, Pauline attended Alex Tech in Alexandria, where in 1973 she earned a General Secretarial degree. That same year, on June 16th, Pauline married her high school sweetheart, Stanley Segaar at St. Donatus Catholic Church in Brooten. The two made their home on a farm near Brooten where they raised their three children.

After her marriage to Stan, Pauline continued to further her education at Willmar Community College and St. Cloud State University, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education in 1980. In addition to being self-employed in agriculture on their farm, Pauline worked at several places throughout the years including Brooten Public Schools in the Media Center, Farm Star in the marketing department, Swanson Fertilizer as a secretary and bookkeeper, Brooten Golf Course where she was the clubhouse manager, Koosman Construction as secretary and accountant, and Bonanza Valley Bank in Brooten where she worked in customer service.

Pauline was always involved in community activities.  She was a member of the Brooten Jaycee Women where she assisted with a multitude of fundraising and service projects.  She was also a member of Brooten Community Church where she was active on many committees and taught Sunday school. She treasured her many adventures with the Boy Scouts and considered coaching the BBE Speech team a highlight of her life. A self-proclaimed "diva", Pauline became involved in community theatre which she said gave her an outlet for her creative talents.

Pauline cherished her family and was especially proud to be a new grandma. She also enjoyed photography and traveling. Her favorite trips were to Italy and cruises that included the kids. She also enjoyed riding Stan's Spyder motorcycle to Banff and Jasper, Canada, and snowmobiling in Yellowstone.

In 2006, Pauline was diagnosed with Thymoma cancer. Following this diagnosis she fulfilled her lifelong dream of living on a lake, spending her summers on Lake Andrew near Alexandria and wintering in Indio, CA.  Pauline died at the age of 62 years on July 30, 2016, at Ecumen Bethany Community in Alexandria surrounded by her family.  She will be remembered by all who knew her for her strong faith, courage, sense of humor and positive attitude, even in the midst of her battle with cancer.
