Phyllis Marie Stueven was born on September 30, 1939, in Howard Lake, Minnesota. She was the second of four children born to Albert and Florence (Tomlinson) Stueven. Raised on a farm near Howard Lake, Phyllis was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she completed her early education in the church school. Phyllis then attended Howard Lake High School, from which she graduated in 1957. She then pursued further education at Minneapolis Technical College, setting the stage for a remarkable career. Phyllis's professional life was a testament to her loyalty and work ethic, as she dedicated 54 years to Augsburg Publishing - Bachke and Tein, Inc. in Minneapolis. Outside of work, Phyllis was a woman of many passions. In her youth, she was an avid member of the ski club and excelled in downhill ski racing. Her love for sports was not limited to the slopes; she was a fervent supporter of the Minnesota Vikings Football team, never missing a game and always cheering them on with enthusiasm. Phyllis also found joy in golfing, sewing, and playing cards. Travel was another of Phyllis's great pleasures. Her adventurous spirit took her to New Zealand and Australia, Europe, and across the United States. Above all, Phyllis valued the time spent with her loved ones. She enjoyed playing cards with everyone and enjoying the good food at family gatherings. Phyllis is survived by her loving sisters, Arlene Cochran of Glenwood and Joan Sandstede of Monticello, along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Loren Stueven.
