AT THE COMMUNITY COVENANT CHURCH in LOWRY and will resume on Tuesday morning at the church at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will be in Ben Wade Covenant Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home of Glenwood. Raymond Dwight Lundblad, son of Ralph and Myrtle (Rosengren) Lundblad, was born on December 31, 1935, at home on the family farm near Farwell, MN.  When he was a child his family moved to Glenwood for a short time before settling in Lowry.  Ray attended school in Glenwood and was a graduate of Glenwood High School.  As a young man, he worked for Anderson Construction in Chicago, before moving back to the Lowry area to start Ray Lundblad Excavating in 1958.  He also co-owned and operated a trucking company, known as Lowry Transfer, with his brother, Glen, until 1976 when they sold that business.  Ray continued to operate his excavating company until 2006, when he sold it to his sons who re-named it Lundblad Brother's Excavating. On December 3, 1960, Ray was united in marriage to Hazel RoseAnn Anderson, at Ben Wade Covenant Church in Lowry (now Lowry Community Covenant Church).  The two made their home in Lowry, where they raised their three children, Dennis, Kent and Patti. Over the years, Ray was active in the Lowry Lions Club, the Lowry Fire Dept., and the Livestock Shippers Club.  He was Lowry's 2007 "Citizen of the Year".  Ray loved his Lord and Savior and was an active member of the Lowry Community Covenant Church, where he served in various capacities. Ray was a hard worker.  He loved spending time with family, friends and acquaintances.  He enjoyed playing dominoes, eating at buffets, coffee time and a good joke.  He was proud of his Swedish heritage and enjoyed his annual "surprise" birthday celebration each New Year's Eve. Ray is survived by his wife of 53 years, RoseAnn; two sons, Dennis (Becky) Lundblad of Lowry, Kent (Jennifer) Lundblad of Glenwood; and a daughter, Patti (Randy) Ihnen of Glenwood; 7 grandchildren, Matt (Molly) Ihnen, Kecia (Doug) Noyes, Mandy (Lucas) Dahlseng, Danielle (Luke) Allen, Katelyn, Justin and Ellie Lundblad; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jackson and Brooklyn Noyes, Kaleb and McKenzie Allen; three sisters, Mae Peterson of Golden Valley, Ruthie (Earl) Ahlquist of Plymouth, and Dorothy (Rich) Thorson of Yorba Linda, CA; five brothers, Glen (Ethel) Lundblad of Lowry, Paul (Sandy) Lundblad of Stone Mountain, GA, Ken (Gloria) Lundblad and Dale (Susan) Lundblad, both of Alexandria, and Bruce (Kelly) Lundblad of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Myrtle Lundblad; and a brother, Leroy Lundblad.
