Rose Marie Cummins, daughter of Chester Andrew and Clara Marie (Holsen) Cummins, was born on November 14, 1938, at Glenwood, MN.  She grew up with her brothers, Andrew and Lester, on the family farm near Glenwood.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a graduate of Glenwood High School.  Rose enjoyed working on the farm and excelled at raising farm animals, especially horses.  Following high school graduation, she moved to the Twin Cities where she worked at a J.C. Penny Department Store. It was there that she met Carroll Marvin Boe.  The two were married on November 22, 1958, at Robbinsdale, MN. Soon thereafter they moved back to her family farm in Glenwood where they made their home and raised their son, Curt. Rose and Carroll shared 36 years of marriage before his death in 1995.

Rose was extensively involved with, and excelled at, the raising and care of horses. She was a horse's best friend. She showed them, bred them, and nursed injured horses back to health. She was also well-known for her ability to get horses show-ready.  Rose was a founding member of the Waska Riders Saddle Club where she was active and competitive and was awarded countless trophies and ribbons. She participated in lots of parades throughout central Minnesota with the club. These activities led to many friendships with other horse lovers, professional showers and veterinarians.

When she was away from the farm, Rose loved to make pottery, knit, and sew. She was a wonderful caregiver and took care of her family; including, Chester, Carroll, Clara, Irene, Andrew and Lester.  In June of 2015, Rose's failing health made it necessary for her to move to the Minnewaska Community Health Services in Starbuck. She passed away there unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at the age of 77 years.

Rose is survived by her son, Curt Boe of Glenwood, MN, nephew, John Cummins and niece, Renee Cummins; as well as countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Marvin Boe; her parents, Chester and Clara Cummins; and her brothers, Robert, Andrew and Lester.

Blessed be her memory.
