Obituary

Rosella Schaub, age 95 of Glenwood, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Glenwood Retirement Village.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22 nd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, Oct. 21 st from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.  Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.  Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Glenwood.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Rosella Beatrice Schaub, the daughter of Frank and Rose (Novak) Landa was born at home on the family farm in Reno Township, Pope County, Minnesota.  She grew up on the farm and attended St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and country school.

On August 26, 1940, Rosella was united in marriage to Charles F. Schaub at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.  The couple made their home in Glenwood.  This marriage was blessed with four children.  Rosella and Charles shared 53 years of marriage before Charles passed away October 12, 1993.

Rosella was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood.  She was a wonderful cook and baker.  She spent hours gardening and canning and enjoyed playing bridge.  Her greatest joy was having her family around her.  The dining room table was a comforting gathering place with family where her delicious food and baking was shared.

Rosella is survived by her children: Earl (Margaret) Schaub of Glenwood, Beverly Rachor of Florence, Montana, Linda (Wayne) Gruenhagen of Nevada, Missouri, and Cheryl (John) Shea of Glenwood; 8 grandchildren: Christine (Curt) Stinson, Mathew (Sarah) Rachor, Jason (Meera) Gruenhagen, Aron (Brandy) Gruenhagen, David Shea, Patricia Kobernusz, Michael Schaub and Eric Schaub; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; sisters, Marcella Motis and Agnes Hlinsky; brother, Lawrence Landa and great-granddaughter, Madison Gruenhagen.
