Obituary

Sandra L. Kaehler age 75 of Lowry, died at home under the care of hospice on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.  A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowry with Pastor Joe Skogmo officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowry and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. Sandra "Sandy" Lee Kaehler the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Larson) Nelson was born September 26, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Sandy grew up in the twin cities where she graduated from high school in Minneapolis.  She went on to further her education at the General Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse.  Sandy worked as a RN in the twin cities and was the school nurse in Eden Valley. She was united in marriage to Walter Law in June of 1960.  This marriage was blessed with 2 children.  Sandy and Walter shared 25 years of marriage before Walter passed away in October of 1985. On February 14, 1987 Sandy was united in marriage to Armon Kaehler and gained two more children.  They made their home in Paynesville where they owned and operated the Ben Franklin.  After retiring they moved to their current home on Pocket Lake in rural Lowry.  Sandy and Armon enjoyed traveling and spending time with family at the lake. Sandy belonged to the Friends of the Library.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, knitting and other crafts.  She especially loved living on Pocket Lake and spending time with her family. Sandy is survived by her husband of 27 years, Armon Kaehler of Lowry; sons, Mark (Stacey) Law of Alexandria, Russell (Laura) Kaehler of Rogers, MN, and Michael (Robin) Kaehler of Brooklyn Park, MN; daughter, Sherrie Law (Dan Winkelman)  of Waite Park, MN; grandchildren, Alexandra Vossen (Alan Booth), Katie (Jason) Hoffart, Austin Menzel, and Isabeau, Laria, Abigale and Amanda  Kaehler; and she was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-granddaughter, Lyra Hoffart. She is also survived by her brother, Phillip (Rhoda) Nelson of Clarkfield, MN; sister, Mary Borud of Fridley, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1st husband, Wally Law.
