Susan D. Kilts, age 69, of Glenwood, MN, died Monday, December 14, 2015, at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, MN.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 19 ^th , at the Minnewaska Assembly of God Church in Glenwood, with Pastor Becky Worner officiating.  A lunch will be held at the Glenview Apartment community room, immediately following the service.

Susan Delores Dahl, daughter of John and Juanita (McPherson) Dahl, was born on February 5, 1946, in Livermore, Iowa.  While she was growing up her family lived in Rutland, Dakota City, and Humboldt, Iowa.  Susan received her G.E.D. in 1974.

On June 17, 1963, Susan was united in marriage to Colin Kelly Kilts in Livermore, Iowa.  They initially made their home in Livermore, and later they lived in Algona and Arnold's Park, Iowa, before moving to Jackson, Fairmont and finally, Glenwood, MN.  Susan was a homemaker and she and Colin were blessed with six children, Teresa, Gwen, Janella, Steve, Owen and Colin, Jr.

Susan enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, cooking, baking, treasure hunting in thrift stores, and watching car races.  She also sewed and created quilts.  She loved to travel and sightsee and especially enjoyed the colorful fall leaves, bird watching and butterflies.

Susan will be remembered as someone who loved spending time with family and thoroughly enjoyed her life.  Family and friends will think of her when they wrap themselves up in her handmade quilts or use one of the beautiful doilies she made.  Her grandchildren will especially remember Grandma teaching them to bake.

Susan passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015, at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, MN, having lived to the age of 69 years.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Colin Kilts of Glenwood; a son, Owen (Debbie) Kilts of Starbuck, MN; two daughters, Teresa (Scott) Street of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Janella (Dave) Pierce of Spirit Lake, IA; 16 grandchildren, Brian, Lukas, Rose and Lilly Kilts of Starbuck, MN, Jonathon Kilts of Idaho, Storm Kilts of Starbuck, Levi Kilts of Florida, Nathan and Mathew Karl of Iowa, Dustin, Daniel, and Lonnie Whitford of Iowa, Michael John, Brandon Kilts and Lisa Pierce, all of Iowa; 10 great-grandchildren, Madison, Addison, Tivianna, Knoxx, Aiden, Emmalexia, Courdan, Essence, Onix, and Demetri; 4 sisters, Nancy Johansen, Christy Briggs, Leisha Prime and Judy Nilles, all of Iowa; 5 brothers, John, Terry, Jerry,  Scott Dahl, all of Iowa, and Kelly Dahl of Kearny, Nebraska; and good friends Dorothy and Curt Green of Glenwood, MN.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gwendollyn (Kilts) Wilson;  two sons, Colin Kilts, Jr., and Steven Kilts; a granddaughter, Brittney Wilson; a sister, Cheryl Hall; a sister-in-law, Alice Dahl; 3 brothers-in-law, Mike Johansen, William Briggs, and Thomas Nilles.
