Angela L. (Martin) Swartz

Angela "Angie" L. Swartz, age 54 of Glenwood, died peacefully, Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at home under the care of hospice. A visitation celebrating Angie's life will be held Wednesday, July 22nd from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. at the Village Inn Sports Bar in Glenwood. Inurnment will be in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery in Glenwood. 

Angela Lea Swartz, the daughter of Maynard and Theresa (Hume) Martin was born September 6, 1965 in Blaine, Minnesota. She grew up in Glenwood where she attended Glenwood High School and was a member of Glenwood Lutheran Church.

Angie was employed at Fingerhut for years before she started cooking and waitressing at several restaurants. She eventually became the manager of the Village Inn Sports Bar in Glenwood, Minnesota for Bud and Trish Bruzek. She lived in Glenwood for the majority of her life, there were a few times she moved away, but always came back to Glenwood. Angie enjoyed summer time, gardening around her house, summer fishing and ice fishing. She especially loved the time she spent with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, the love she had for her grandchildren and her whole family and her infectious laugh. Angie was a very caring and giving person and will be greatly missed. She died Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at home under the care of hospice after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Angie is survived by her partner of 26 years, Curtis Moen of Glenwood; son, Billy (Codie Parker) Swartz of Alexandria; grandchildren: Landen Lee Brady Swartz, Tipp Clarence Swartz, Chance Baily Parker and Leah Kaylie Swartz; sisters: Della (Bruce) Johnson of Glenwood and Nancy (Wayne) Gilbertson of Forada; brothers, Frank (Julie) Martin of Coon Rapids and Randy (Vasillia) Martin of Texas; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Swartz; her brother, Thomas Hume Martin; grandparents, several uncles, aunts and cousins.
