Anna Mae (Kleinschmidt) Pfeninger, age 92, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Glenwood Village Care Center in Glenwood. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 17, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Villard with Fr. Joe Vandeberg officiating. Visitation will be held Friday March 16 from 5 - 7pm at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in rural Villard. Arrangements are with Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.
Anna Mae was born to Joseph and Margaret (Laubach) Kleinschmidt on November 6, 1925 in St. Martin, MN. She attended school through the Jr high. Anna Mae worked several jobs in the Twin Cities following her schooling. She then met and later married Robert Pfeninger. The couple was wed on September 5, 1955 in Sauk Centre, MN. Anna Mae then took on the role of a homemaker. She and Bob were blessed with 3 sons and 53 years of marriage.
Anna Mae was a member of the Christian Mothers, Birthday Club, Senior Citizens Card Club, and St. Mary’s Mission Group. Among other things, Anna Mae liked to read and put together jig-saw puzzles. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love of family.
Anna Mae is survived by her sons, Tom (Jan), Villard; Jim (Sheila), Villard; and Mike (Pam), Richmond; grandchildren, Sara (Bill) Friedrichs, Patrick (Kayla) Pfeninger, Leanne (Trent) Prohl, Alicia (fiancé, Danny Leach) Pfeninger, Tony Pfeninger, Eric (fiancé, Kinzy Wisneski), Sam (fiancé, Jordan Shoutz) Pfeninger; great grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Friedrichs; Addalyn and Brynlee Prohl, Makenna Pfeninger, and Henry Pfeninger; sister, Cecil Zehrer, Sauk Centre; brothers, Fr. Sylvester Kleinschmidt, Sauk Centre, Joe (Jeanette) Kleinschmidt, Sauk Centre; sister-in-law, Teresa “Trix” Kleinschmidt, Sauk Centre.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert (2008); sisters, Betty Lou Kleinschmidt, Millie Vener; brother, Ollie Kleinschmidt.
In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to go to Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Villard or to Glacial Ridge Hospice in Glenwood.
