Barbara J. (Sherlin) Goodrich

Barbara J. Goodrich, age 76 of Glenwood, died Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Glenwood Retirement Village. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 at the All Saint's Chapel in the Glenwood Retirement Village. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood. 

Barbara “Barb” Jean Goodrich, the daughter of Wallace and Helen (Chermak) Sherlin was born August 10, 1946 in Glenwood. Barb was the first born of Wallace and Helen and was later joined by her brother, Jim. She grew up and went to school in Glenwood, graduating from Glenwood High School in 1964. After high school, Barb furthered her education and graduated from the Wahpeton School of Science with her Licensed Practical Nurse degree in 1979. After she graduated she worked in nursing for several years in WI and eastern Minnesota until 1990 when she moved back to Glenwood to work and care for her father. She was employed at Lakeview Nursing Home in Glenwood from 1990 until she retired in 2013.

Barb loved fishing with her dad, gardening, horses, wildlife, especially loons and her spoiled rotten shitzu, Molly Rose Sherlin. When Barb needed help with her daily care she moved into the Glenwood Retirement Village. She passed away there on Sunday, April 8, 2023.

Barb is survived by her son, Troy Sherlin of Glenwood; her brother, Jim (Betty) Sherlin of Glenwood, her beloved dog, Molly Rose Sherlin; other relatives and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents.
