Beverly Anderson, age 63 of Glenwood died peacefully at home under the care of her family and Glacial Ridge Hospice on November 12, 2024. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood with Father Joe Vandeberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Glenwood.
Beverly Eileen Anderson was born on April 9, 1961, in Starbuck, MN, to Burnell and Doris (Rosby) Hagestuen. Bev grew up in Starbuck where she attended school and was a 1979 graduate of Starbuck High School. On September 19, 1981, Bev was united in marriage to Kevin Anderson. Together they built a life filled with love and laughter in rural Glenwood, and were blessed with two wonderful sons, Jason and Darin Anderson.
Bev and Kevin worked together seamlessly throughout their lives running several successful businesses. In the 80s until 1995, they owned and operated K.B. Oil Company. She and Kevin then started Kevin Anderson Excavating. Their partnership in business was as strong as in life, working hand in hand to build their dream. In 2009, they expanded their horizons with the creation of South Point RV Park on the southern shore of Lake Minnewaska. This endeavor would become a testament to Bev's vision and dedication, turning the park into a beloved retreat for many. Even after selling the upper portion of the park in 2022, Bev continued to pour her heart into operating the lower portion, ensuring it remained a 'happy place' for all who visited.
A devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bev's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy and solace in the community and the fellowship it provided. Her interests were as varied as they were passionate. Bev reveled in the beauty of Lake Minnewaska, where she found kindred spirits among the people she met. She enjoyed scrapbooking and became a Creative Memories Consultant for many years. Her love for golfing and paddle boarding were only matched by the time she cherished with her family and many friends.
Those who knew Bev spoke of her soft, kindhearted personality. Her thoughtfulness and optimism were infectious, and she possessed a spirited nature that uplifted everyone around her. Bev was the epitome of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. It was this very quality that allowed her to forge special connections with so many, often from the very first meeting.
Bev's memory will be treasured and kept alive by her loving husband of 43 years, Kevin Anderson; her sons, Jason and Darin Anderson, both of Glenwood; her granddaughter, Everly Anderson and her brother, Paul Hagestuen. Her presence will also be deeply missed by the countless friends who became an extended family over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Burnell and Doris; her brother, David Hagestuen; and sister-in-law, Kathy Hagestuen.
