Bradley Jongeward, age 58 of Glenwood, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6th at the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood with Rev. Randy Chrissis officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Bradley Victor Jongeward, son of Brent and Donna (Annis) Jongeward, was born September 21, 1962 in Jamestown, ND. He grew up in Jamestown with his parents and younger brother, Derrick. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown and he attended public school, graduating in 1980 from Jamestown High School.

Following high school, Brad worked in retail management in multiple states including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. In 1987, he moved back to North Dakota where he had a brief career in real estate before returning to his hometown of Jamestown to work for the local newspaper, the Jamestown Sun. Later, he moved to Bismarck where he attended Bismarck State College and earned an Associate’s Degree. After college, in 1996, Brad moved to Glenwood, MN where began his employment with R/C Machining as a machinist and remained employed there until his death.

In 1985, Brad married Jennifer Wingert and the couple was blessed with two sons, Brendon and Blayne. On July 21, 2016, Brad was united in marriage to Heather Marczak in Glenwood, MN. They made their home on Lake Minnewaska.

Brad enjoyed just about anything having to do with the outdoors. His absolute favorite activity was ice fishing. During the winter months any free time he had was spent out on the ice in his fish house. In the fall, he enjoyed hunting, especially when it involved trips up north with his sons. Those trips had a way of creating special memories that made for great storytelling. Fall also ushered in football season, an annual highlight for an avid fan like Brad. His favorite teams were the NDSU Bison and the Minnesota Vikings and he participated in a fantasy football league. During the summer Brad also fished, often waking up bright and early to go out on the lake in his kayak before anyone else was awake. He would spend the remainder of the day with Heather and his dog, Miley, enjoying the lake and often a bonfire. If he wasn't at his house on Lake Minnewaska, you could find him visiting his parents at their home on Lake Lida, where he enjoyed jet skiing.

Brad died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, December 28, 2020, on his way to go ice fishing. He leaves behind his parents, Brent and Donna Jongeward of Pelican Rapids; his wife, Heather Jongeward of Glenwood; son, Brendon Jongeward (and fiancée Kelly Elness) of Ham Lake; and his brother, Derrick Jongeward of Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by his son, Blayne Jongeward (December 2020), and maternal and paternal grandparents.
