Bryan Joseph Schmainda, son of Frank and Linda (Scepaniak) Schmainda, passed away unexpectedly at home in Glenwood on May 14, 2024, at the age of 49. Born on Christmas Day in 1974 in Fargo, ND, Bryan was welcomed home by his older siblings, Tom and Teri. He grew up in Glenwood where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Minnewaska Area schools, graduating in 1994. His love of sports led him to play football at Fergus Falls Technical School, before transferring to Alexandria Technical School, where he earned certification in Wastewater Treatment. Throughout his life, Bryan applied his diverse talents to various jobs, most recently working as a welder at Clyde's. Over the years he also enjoyed cooking at several local eating establishments. Whether cooking for customers or family and friends, his passion and creative nature always guaranteed a fine meal.

Bryan's zest for life was evident in his wide array of interests. Whether he was searching for hidden treasures with his metal detector, swimming in a local lake, traversing hiking trails, cultivating his garden, or crafting unique projects, Bryan approached each activity with boundless enthusiasm. His love for music was the soundtrack of his adventures, and his presence was a beacon of joy for those fortunate enough to join him.

Described by those who knew him as creative, passionate, and loving, Bryan's legacy is one of warmth and inspiration. His love for his family was paramount, and he leaves behind a tapestry of memories for his cherished mother, Linda of Glenwood; his daughters, Dakohta Schmainda of Glenwood, and Kaylynn (Josiah) Ruch of Blaine; his grandson, Milo Ruchs, who brought him immeasurable joy; his sister, Teri (Bruce) Middendorf; and his brother, Tom (Carla) Schmainda. Bryan's love story with his fiancée, Amiee Otte of Glenwood, spanned a decade, and their shared dreams and adventures will remain a testament to their deep connection.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father, Frank Schmainda, in 2022.

In his life, Bryan embodied the essence of what it means to live fully and love deeply. His spirit, characterized by his creative soul and loving heart, will continue to inspire those who knew him.
