Carole M. (Razink) Cantwell

Carole Cantwell, 85, of Glenwood passed away peacefully Monday, September 4, 2023 at Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria. A memorial service celebrating Carole's life will be held at 2:00 on Friday, September 8th at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Prior to the service, visitation will begin at 1:00 at the church. A celebration of life will also be held in Kenosha, Wisconsin at a later date. Inurnment will also be at a later date in the Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery in Glenwood. Arrangements are with the Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Home in Glenwood.

Carole Madeline Cantwell was born February 11, 1938 to Charles and Alvina (Bruhn) Razink in Clontarf, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm in the Sedan area and attended the Sedan country school and later Glenwood High School.

On February 13, 1956, Carole was united in marriage to Dennis Grammentz. They made their home in Glenwood for the first years of their marriage. They later moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin and resided there until Dennis' passing December 6, 1983.

On November 16, 1985, Carole married William “Bill” Cantwell. They enjoyed homes in both Wisconsin and Florida until Bill's passing in 2006. Carole then returned to Minnesota to be near her sisters.

Carole had a passion for crafting - from quilting and painting to crocheting and sewing. She loved it all. She was also known as a mischief maker by those who knew her best. 

Carole is survived by her children, Charles (Sharon) Grammentz, Richard (Tami) Grammentz, Denise (Michael) Lentz, Jeffrey Cantwell, Paula (Michael) Boettcher, Debbie (Greg) Stein and Edie (Steve) LaMothe; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; sisters Clara Iverson and Marion Carsten; and her beloved cat, Gus.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband, Dennis Grammentz, 2nd husband, William Cantwell; son, John Cantwell; brother, Leroy Razink, and sister, Kathleen Blum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Glenwood Lutheran Church.
