On May 20, 1961, Dick married Sylvia Vold, at Chippewa Falls Lutheran Church in Terrace. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they raised three sons: Brian, Scott and Todd. Dick was a loving and dedicated husband and father.
Dick was employed as a truck driver for Super Valu in Hopkins for 33 years. Twenty years ago, Dick and Sylvia made the decision to return to Dick's original homestead in Terrace, where they enjoyed the peace and tranquility of rural life.
Dick enjoyed hunting, mowing, working in his yard, and liked playing the guitar and singing. He also had an affinity for collecting antiques and coins, always on the lookout for a special piece to add to his collection. Dick was a man of many hats, figuratively and literally. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, being a wonderful storyteller and jokester. His stories will continue to be shared, his laughter will continue to be remembered, and his love will continue to be felt by all who knew him. Dick passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023, under the care of hospice at Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood, Minnesota.
