Junice Adeline "Tootsie" Jordahl, was born on June 12, 1935, in Ben Wade Township, Pope County, Minnesota, to Harold and Lillian (Kroupa) Weisel. June was the second of eight children. Her early years were spent on the family farm, where she developed a strong work ethic and a deep sense of community, attending St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowry and Glenwood High School.

On May 16, 1954, June was united in marriage to Merle Jordahl at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Lowry. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership as they established their home in Glenwood and welcomed five children into the world. June's role as a loving homemaker was the cornerstone of a warm and inviting household where laughter, love, and the aroma of her famous baked goods filled the air.

June's nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family as she volunteered as a foster grandparent at Nordgaard Elementary School and served as a senior companion in Glenwood and the surrounding area. Her commitment to service was further exemplified through her involvement with the senior citizen center, where she served as a board member, and her dedication to St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she participated in Bible Study. She also belonged and taught Sunday School at Glenwood Lutheran Church when they lived in Glenwood, when her children were growing up. She supported the Youth for Christ while her son, Jon was the director.

June's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She found joy in simple pleasures like playing bingo, solving puzzle books, and indulging in her passion for cooking and baking. An avid fisher, June cherished the tranquility of nature and the thrill of the catch. Family gatherings were the highlight of her life, as were the opportunities to travel and connect with loved ones near and far. Her generous spirit and pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the essence of her being. In June of 2023, when June needed help with her daily care she moved into the Glenwood Retirement Village. She passed away there on September 8, 2025.

June is survived by her sons, Dennis Jordahl of New Prague and Jon (Hope) Jordahl of Starbuck; daughters: Heidi (Daniel) Winter of Glenwood, Roberta Jordahl of Glenwood, and Patti Jordahl of Bethalto, IL; grandchildren: Erich (Jayme) Winter, Jared Jordahl, Brittany Jordahl, Sarah (Mark) Bartlow, Elizabeth Jordahl, Melanie (David) Pearce, Sierra (Jared) Osterlund, Tatiana (Alec) Ranum, Nicolette (Devan) Liebeg, Janelle Jordahl, and Emily (Jacob) Holle; her great-grandchildren: Jonah and Caleb Winter, Mari, Blayne, Gideon Jordahl, Oliver Jordahl, Evangeline Grace Bartlow, Archer Dorris, Ezekiel and Elena Pearce, Lucy Ranum, Gracie Liebeg, and Elly, Ana, Josue, Noah, and Levi Holle. She is also survived by her siblings Audrey (Richard) Sanford, Rosemary Ludowese, Harvey Weisel, Roger Weisel, and Ronnie (Nancy) Weisel, along with sisters-in-law, Dee and Marcia Weisel; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and Lillian Weisel; spouse, Merle Jordahl; brothers, Eugene and Paul Weisel; sisters-in-law, Beverly and Marlys Weisel; and her granddaughters, Melinda Rose Volkmann and Christy Marie Dorris.

June's life was a testament to her loving, faith-filled, and selfless nature. She touched the lives of many with her kindness and her unwavering commitment to her faith and family. Her love was freely expressed, and it will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. June's memory will be cherished and her spirit will live on through the countless lives she has influenced.
