Laura Lee Glover, age 73, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at Glenwood Village Care Center in Glenwood, Minnesota. Born on July 1, 1951, in Blaine, Minnesota, Laura was the third of four children born to the late Edwin and Esther (Thorne) Daum. Laura’s life was a testament to courage, having overcome challenges in her youth with grace and determination. Despite these challenges, Laura was proud to have graduated from Blaine High School in the spring of 1969.
Laura married Kent Glover on March 22, 1975, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN. Laura and Kent began their life together in Minneapolis where they started their family. Together they had four children: Tia, Trent, Kelly, and Kory. In the early 1980’s, Laura and her family moved to Princeton where she worked as a secretary at Eslen, a metal finishing business owned and operated by her husband Kent. In 1989, the family moved to Alexandria where they happily found their forever home. Through the years, Laura worked various jobs in the Alexandria area, but her greatest joy was being able to be at home, raising their four children.
Laura will be remembered for her strong faith, deep love for her family, and commitment to her community. She was a dedicated volunteer at Fare for All (a food distribution charity), the Girls and Boys Club, where she was a Campfire Leader, and for the "Adopt A Highway" program, where she kept a section of highway near their home clean. Laura was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Alexandria. Laura’s unwavering commitment to the Lord was evident through prayer, bible study, attending church, spreading the word of the Lord, and volunteering at the church. She could often be found sitting peacefully at the table, reading her Bible.
Laura enjoyed spending time with family, camping in Akeley, listening to Christian music, sewing, and crafting of any sort. Her handmade creations, whether they were keepsakes for her loved ones or special gifts, reflected the love, care, and faith that defined her life.
Laura is survived by her devoted children, Tia (Darren) Redetzke of Alexandria, Trent (Lisa) Glover of Glenwood, Kelly Isaacs of Alexandria, and Kory (Sarah) Glover of Osakis. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kaylee, Kristen, Jada, Ashley, Megan, Cole, Makenzie, Arya, Aubree, Brielle, and Kroy. Laura also leaves behind her siblings, Douglas Deerring, Marlys Daum, and Donald Daum.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kent.
