Loren Ernest Burdorf was born on May 29, 1944, in Watertown, MN. Loren was the third of six children born to Ernest and Alpha (Zastrow) Burdorf. He grew up on the family farm near Mayer and attended schools in Waconia and Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School in 1963.

On November 5, 1966, Loren married Carol Arildson, and together they were blessed with five children, Amy, Jennifer, Patricia, David and Michael. The couple later divorced.

On May 5, 1984, Loren was united in marriage to Margaret (Bliss) Jellison. They made their home on Loren’s farm near Villard and shared 11 years of marriage before Margaret died on January 17, 1996.

On June 14, 1997, Loren married Elizabeth (Koch) Hanson, and they also made their home on the farm near Villard. Loren valued family deeply and took great pride in the life he built with those he loved.

Loren worked in various machine shops as a machinist, where his skill, patience, and practical knowledge were evident to all who knew him. He enjoyed working in the shop to build things, as well as farming, gardening, traveling, fishing, hunting, camping and Western movies and television programs. He found joy in staying busy and in using his hands to create and repair with care and precision.

He will be remembered for his willingness to help everyone and for the steady, dependable way he lived his life. Loren was the kind of man others could count on, and his presence brought comfort, strength, and quiet reassurance to his family and friends.
