Marlys Arlene (Kjeldahl) Olson, the daughter of Thomas and Selma (Thompson) Kjeldahl was born May 11, 1936 in Brooten, Minnesota. One year to the date later, Thomas and Selma welcomed a son, Kenny. Marlys grew up in Brooten where she attended school and graduated from Brooten High School in 1954.

On April 21, 1956, Marlys was united in marriage to Warren Olson. The two made their home in Glenwood and were blessed with three children. Marlys and Warren later divorced, but remained friends.

Marlys worked 35 years as a dietary aid at the Glenwood Retirement Village, a job she truly loved and made many close friends.

Marlys enjoyed reading and going to garage sales. She will be remembered for her kindness.

Marlys died December 11, 2020 at the Glenwood Retirement Village at the age of 84 years.

She is survived by her children: Craig Olson of Alexandria, Todd (Karman) Olson of Lake Mary, FL, and Jill Flynn of Menomonie, WI; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny (Wendy) Kjeldahl; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Marlys was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband, Warren Olson.
