Born in St. Vincent, MN, on March 24th, 1948, Nina was the middle of seven children born to George and Alice (Wood) Huggins. She grew up in Williston, ND.
After graduating from Williston High School, she ventured with her sister Georgiene to Arizona to work. It was here she met and married Larry Sneider, and had her 2 children - Larry Jr, and Stacey. They later returned as a family back to Williston. She worked various part time jobs while also staying home with her children. She worked at churches in the area, and then became the director for Traffic Safety (which included the Drug and Alcohol task force, Teen Institute, and more), which she was very passionate about. She loved working with the teens and the community. She was a great leader in her various roles.
After her children graduated, she eventually moved to Fargo, ND where she was able to help with her new grandchildren and became the West Fargo Chamber of Commerce President. She flourished in this new role. From there, she went to Jamestown, ND and was the director of Tourism until she retired. Once she retired, she moved to Glenwood, MN to live by the lake as well as her daughter Stacey (and Ron) and her grandchildren. Her son Larry (Des) and his children were frequent visitors here. Nina also liked to go to Ohio and visit Larry, Des and the grandchildren. Her kids and grandkids were the highlight of her life in these years.
Even after her cancer and other health conditions that did not allow her to do much outside her home, she loved to live vicariously through her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to hear about their many adventures and was always supportive.
Nina was fiercely independent and loved her various roles and places she lived. She thrived in her director roles, and impacted many lives and made many friends along the way.
She continued to make her annual trip to be with her high school bestie group - a highlight of her year. It was here she really let her feisty nature show and was always up for shenanigans.
She also loved her network here in Glenwood the last years of her life, Padi, Linda, Diane, Jessica and her home health family. She was well loved.
She was known for her ability to look at the positive, despite many negative hurdles that came her way. She had a sense of humor, was highly organized, and was willing to put herself out and learn new things. She rarely complained and to her last day - was so gracious and kind to everyone who helped to take care of her. She was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Son, Larry (Desiree) Sneider in Toledo, OH - Grandson Alex (Tiffany), Brendon, Ahna and Faith - and great grandchildren Noah, Everett, and Emery. Daughter Stacey (Ron) Luetmer in Glenwood, MN – Grandchildren Adrianna, Abigail, McKenna, McKenzie, and Jacob. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Jack (Dee) Huggins of Omaha, and Bob (RaeDale) of Greeley, CO.
Nina is preceded in death by her parents George and Alice Huggins, her siblings Georgiene, Frank, Jim, and Robin, her sister-in-law Melody Huggins, Brother-in-law Bill Snyder, and nephew Shawn Huggins
