Phyllis Marie Nagel was born on July 22, 1936, in Harvey, Illinois. She was the eldest of four children born to Anthony and Clara (Ertz) Krause. Phyllis's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her joy in serving others, and the deep love she held for her family and friends.

Growing up, Phyllis lived in Clear Lake, South Dakota where she attended country school. Her family later moved to Marshall, Minnesota where Phyllis graduated from Marshall High School. Phyllis was employed as an inpatient coder/transcriptionist at Weiner Memorial Medical Center in Marshall. On June 17, 1961, Phyllis married the love of her life, Donald Nagel, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in her hometown. The couple was blessed with a daughter, Ann, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. They shared 40 years of marriage before Donald passed away in 2001. After Donald passed away, Phyllis embraced retirement in 2004 and settled into her lake home on Lake Amelia in Villard.

Active involvement in church activities was a cornerstone of Phyllis's life. In Marshall, she served on the board of worship, was the parish council chair, sang in the church choir, participated as a catholic daughter and Eucharistic minister. Upon moving to Villard, she joined the Sacred Heart parish community, becoming a member of the Christian Mothers, Our Lady Mission, the church choir, and a special birthday group within the church. Her commitment to her faith was unwavering and she lived it out through her actions every day.

Phyllis's interests and talents were many and varied. She was an accomplished bowler, earning numerous trophies over the years. Her love for knitting and crocheting resulted in countless handmade treasures for her family and church missions. Phyllis's blankets, hats, slippers, and dishrags were crafted with love and care, warming the lives of those around her. She also found joy in simple pleasures like word searches, feeding the birds, and watching sports games.

Phyllis will be forever remembered as a loving, courageous, and faith-filled woman with an ability to bring laughter and light into any room with her jokes and teasing. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Hall; grandchildren, Madisen Hall and Jake Hall, all of Villard; sister, Joanne (Gerald) Glennon of Honolulu, Hawaii; brother, Ron (Kristi) Krause of Barnum, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Dennis Allex of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Arleen Nagel of Isle, MN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Donald Nagel; her sister, Carol Allex; brothers-in-law, Paul, Loren and Bill Nagel; sisters-in-law, Lourine and Edna Nagel; and her special furry companion, Buster.
