My dear friend Ruth and I were roommates at Augustana for 2 years. We had a great time and of course have kept in touch. My deepest sympathy to Todd, Peter, Paul, Luther and all the family.

I am forever in debt to Ruth for teaching my son to read, she even wrote 'books' in his interests for encouragement. To this day he reads well and his comprehension is excellent. I am saddened to learn of her death and didn't know she had been ill. To her family, your mother and grandmother was a wonderful teacher and human being, take extra care during this difficult time as you remember the great lady she was.

The last time I spoke with Ruth was about 6 months ago in a casual encounter. As always, I was struck by her grace and sincerity in every circumstance. The world will miss this gentle, loving lady; I pray for comfort to all of you special children and grandchildren.

Our sincere sympathy to the Gremmels family. Ruth was a dear lady. I worked with her at Prospect Park/Nordgaard for many years. I had great respect and admiration for her as a teacher and a person. I believe that her colleagues as well as her students benefitted from working with Ruth.
